Dental Implants At Elizabethtown Dental

WE CAN TAKE CARE OF OUR TEETH EVERY DAY, but sometimes situations out of our control still happen. From every day wear and tear to trauma or disease, some adults have experienced permanent tooth loss. Regardless how it happens, or to what extent, a common result we see is oral discomfort and a lack of confidence. Of course, permanent tooth loss is something our team at Elizabethtown Dental always do their best to prevent. When tooth loss is inevitable, the good news is that today’s technological advances help in finding permanent solutions.

One of those permanent solutions is implant dentistry. Although this procedure is not new, advances from its original discovery have helped it become an available solution for many of our patients today. Initial discoveries came in the 1950’s when scientists learned how bones can fuse with titanium. This fusion process makes natural bone support possible, and enables our dentists to copy the root and tooth system that your mouth naturally has.

Your first step to dental implants is a consultation at our office. As with most dental procedures, we want to make sure all of your questions can be answered, and a custom-made plan can be made to fit your dental needs. Once a plan is in place, implants can be placed within the gum line and allowed to fuse. Healing time for the implants is between 3–6 months depending on what your body needs to create a strong fusion. After the implants have healed, the custom crown, bridge, or dentures can be placed. After this placement (unlike traditional dentures or bridges) the solution is much stronger and long lasting, giving you the confident smile you desire.
